All tickets issued by Rex are electronic tickets, or "e-tickets". Passengers are advised to read the terms and conditions and fare rules which are found on the “e-ticket”.


Customers aged eighteen (18) and above must present an acceptable form of identification in order to travel. If a customer has no photographic ID, they are required to provide two forms of non-photographic ID. The customer’s name on the identification must match the name on the booking. The following forms of ID are considered acceptable forms of identification.

Photographic ID

  • Passport (current or expired within the last five years)
  • Current drivers license (current or expired within the last five years)
  • Current state/federal government department issued employee ID card
  • Valid airline issued employee identification card
  • Valid cards issued by Airport Authorities and Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)
  • Valid identification cards issued by Government Business Enterprises
  • Valid state/territory or federal government issued entitlement card, such as a pension card providing the document includes a signature
  • Cards such as Medicare cards, which do not have a signature are not acceptable


Children and Infants

Customers aged seventeen (17) or under are not required to present identification provided they are travelling with, or are presented at check-in by an identifiable guardian.


Contagious Diseases

In accordance with Civil Aviation Orders and the duty of care to protect both passengers and crew, Regional Express will not carry passengers with a contagious disease while they are in the infectious stage.

A Rex Medical Certificate of Fitness to Fly signed by a physician stating that you the passenger is "not suffering from a communicable disease at the contagious stage" is required before travel can be approved for the following contagious conditions:

  • Chicken pox
  • Hepatitis A
  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella (German Measles)
  • Shingles
  • Tuberculosis
  • Whooping Cough (Pertussis)
  • COVID-19
    • If symptomatic without a recent negative test
    • If travelling with a formal quarantine exemption for compassionate reasons

      Please note that if a previous COVID-19 test was returned as positive, passengers must complete at least ten days of isolation with asymptomatic results, all symptoms must be resolved for at least 72 hours before standard time of departure or two consecutive negative COVID-19 results

      It is unacceptable to travel:

    • If passengers are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms prior to their Rex flight
    • If passengers are waiting for a COVID-19 test result to be confirmed
    • Been in close contact with a confirmed COVID19 case
