Travel Requirements

Valid Ticket

All tickets issued by Rex are electronic tickets, or "e-tickets". Passengers are advised to read the Fare Rules and Conditions of Carriage which are found on the “e-ticket”.

Identification

Passengers aged eighteen (18) and above must present an acceptable form of identification (ID) in order to travel. If a passenger has no photographic ID, they are required to provide two forms of non-photographic ID. The passenger’s name on the ID must match the name on the booking. The following forms of ID are considered acceptable forms of identification.

Photographic ID

  • Passport (current or expired within the last five years)
  • Current driver’s licence (current or expired within the last five years)
  • Current state/federal government department issued employee ID card
  • Valid airline issued employee identification card
  • Valid cards issued by Airport Authorities and Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)
  • Valid identification cards issued by Government Business Enterprises

Non-photographic ID

  • Birth certificate
  • Marriage certificate
  • Medicare card
  • Government issued identification cards:
    • Pensioner
    • Over 18
    • Employee ID card
Electronic copies of identification via electronic devices are acceptable.

Children and Infants

Passengers aged seventeen (17) or under are not required to present identification provided they are travelling with, or are presented at check-in by, an identifiable guardian.

Contagious Diseases

In accordance with Civil Aviation Orders and the duty of care to protect both passengers and crew, Rex will not carry passengers with a contagious disease while they are in the infectious stage.

Rex Medical Certificate of Fitness to Fly signed by a medical practitioner stating that you the passenger is "not suffering from a communicable disease at the contagious stage" is required before travel can be approved for the following contagious conditions:

  • Chicken pox
  • Hepatitis A
  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella (German Measles)
  • Shingles
  • Tuberculosis
  • Whooping Cough (Pertussis)

COVID-19

You must defer your travel plans if you:
  • are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms prior to your Rex flight, such as fever/chills, shortness of breath, cough or sore throat, loss of taste/smell, unless medical clearance has been given,
    or
  • are currently required to self-isolate or quarantine.
