The town of Port Macquarie, home to a population of 48,186 is a seaside escape which sits between the Pacific Ocean and the Hastings River, located 390km north of Sydney and 570km south of Brisbane. Port Macquarie is the home to the highest population of koalas, known for its famous Koala Hospital which looks after over 250 koalas and their world renowned Koala Breeding Centre located at Billabong Zoo.
