Flights between major airports have been cancelled, with the Rex Group’s domestic fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft are all grounded. Information for creditors and suppliers is published here.
1. Can I get a refund for a cancelled flight before 9:30pm, Tuesday 30 July 2024?
We are not offering refunds for cancellations before 9:30pm, Tuesday 30 July 2024.
Affected customers were contacted directly by the airline to accept an offer from Virgin Australia to honour all prepaid tickets. This offer has now expired.
If an affected customer has not rebooked with Virgin Australia or is not eligible for the offer made by Qantas or Virgin Australia in relation to a cancelled flight, they may be considered a creditor and entitled to submit a claim in the administration. Email rex.creditors@au.ey.com with details, including name and contact information, to facilitate registration.
More information for creditors and suppliers is available here.
If you have been reaccommodated on an alternate flight you are unlikely to be a creditor.
2. What happens if I did not rebook my cancelled flight with Virgin Australia before 5pm, Wednesday 14 August?
If you haven’t rebooked your affected Rex domestic flight with Virgin Australia by the deadline, your booking is now void.
You may be considered a creditor and entitled to submit a claim in the administration.
Please email rex.creditors@au.ey.com with details, including name and contact information, to facilitate registration.
3. What is happening to my Rex Flyer points and membership?
Rex Flyer members are able to continue to earn Rex Points as usual, including bonus point earn amounts for tiered members.
Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond members will also continue to be able to enjoy the normal benefits under your membership tier.
However, members will not be able to use points for Flight Rewards during the administration period.
