Sydney passengers, we are heading home to T2

From 4 November 2026, Rex will return home to Sydney Airport Terminal 2 (T2). T2 has been transformed with new technology, streamlined processes and increased self-service facilities to make your airport experience even smoother.

What this means for you:

  • All passengers will check in and clear security at T2, and all Rex flights will depart from Gate G2, where you will also find our T2 Rex Lounge Room.
  • All Rex passengers landing at Sydney will continue to arrive into T2 as per normal, including the same baggage collection points.
  • All passengers connecting between Rex flights can remain in the terminal for their onward journey, however you will now have to proceed to the Departures level to clear security prior to proceeding to Gate G2.

Our return also brings a new self-service experience, designed to make your time at the airport simpler and more convenient

For a smoother journey, check in online before you head to the airport and add your boarding pass to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. When you arrive at T2, make your way to Zone A on the Departures level to collect your bag tag, then head to our self-service bag drop to drop off your luggage.

Our self-service options give you the choice of enjoying a seamless journey through the airport, while our Customer Service team will always be on hand in Zone A if you prefer a little extra assistance with check in.
