The statistics were recently released by the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) and they include all major domestic and regional airlines operating within Australia.

Rex Unveils 'City of Wagga Wagga' Aircraft

The aircraft was unveiled today in conjunction with the official opening of the expanded and refurbished Wagga Wagga Airport terminal.

Regional Express (Rex), today announced that it had purchased 4 Saab 340 B model aircraft. The aircraft were originally operating in the Rex fleet under a lease which expired in October 08. The acquisition was funded from Rex's operating cash flows.

Regional Express (Rex) has today announced a number of network schedule changes as a result of the continuing pilot shortage. Rex will withdraw from the Cooma (Snowy Mountains) to Sydney route indefinitely, which had been planned to recommence from 6 June 2008, as well as reducing flying activities elsewhere in the network.

Rex announces changes to Kangaroo Island winter schedule

Rex today announced that due to seasonal fluctuation in demand it would be reducing frequency between Kangaroo Island and Adelaide for a short period between Tuesday 20 May 2008 and Sunday 13 July 2008. The suspension will only apply to the evening service departing Adelaide at 6.55 p.m. and returning from Kangaroo Island at 7.50pm that operates Sunday to Friday inclusive.

Rex and Air Link awarded 15 Air Transport Licenses for regional NSW

Regional Express (Rex) and its subsidiary Air Link have been awarded 15 NSW intrastate Air Transport Licenses which confer on the Rex Group the sole right to operate on these routes. The licenses commence on 30th March 2008 and expire 29th March 2013.
