Open Day in Wagga Wagga

Open Day in Wagga Wagga

Rex’s Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA) was buzzing with excitement on 8 September 2012 as gates were flung open for visitors to the Rex Open Day. In celebration of Rex’s 10th Anniversary, AAPA’s grounds were transformed into a colourful and lively arena with live musical entertainment, kids’ rides, market stalls and various Rex activities like simulator rides and scenic flights. All proceeds from the day have been donated to two worthy regional charities – Can Assist and Country Hope.

The day officially launched the commemorative coffee table book, ‘The Rex Story – The First 10 Years’, with The Hon. Warren Truss, Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Transport/Leader of the Nationals as the Guest-of-Honour.

With Wagga Wagga local Darren Coggan as the headline act, the live musical entertainment proved to be a highlight of the Open Day - with the likes of Royalty Dance Crew getting everyone’s heart pumping with their nifty dance moves and The Australian Army Band Kapooka showing off their precision in an amazing display.
