Regional Express (Rex) has announced it has increased its schedule of flights between Adelaide and Kingscote on Kangaroo Island with an early morning service and additional services as required.
“Rex has introduced a new Saab service departing Adelaide at 7.05am arriving Kingscote at 7.35am and returning to Adelaide at 7.55am arriving at 8.25am,” Geoff Breust Rex’s Managing Director said.
“We are operating this service most days through now until the end of January. From the beginning of February this service will be a normal part of our schedule and operate Monday to Friday.”
“Rex is also operating a number of additional evening services to complement our current Saab service which departs Adelaide at 5.45pm returning from Kingscote at 6.35pm. This additional Saab return flight will depart Adelaide at 6.25pm arriving in Kingscote at 6.55pm and returning at 7.15pm arriving Adelaide at 7.45pm. We are operating this service where there is demand for extra seats,” Mr Breust said
Rex and before it Kendell Airlines has a long history of providing reliable and quality air services to Kangaroo Island and throughout South Australia. Rex’s move to provide the additional services will not only fill the gap left by the withdrawal of Emu Airways bringing visitors to the Island but also a vital early morning flight for Island residents thereby providing a day return service to Adelaide.
Rex is also operating additional services between Adelaide and Port Lincoln over the coming weeks to assist following the withdrawal of services on that route by Airlines of South Australia.
Rex has made special arrangements with Airlines of South Australia and Emu Airways for all passengers booked and ticketed for travel on their services from tomorrow (9 November) to be transferred to Rex without penalty. All such passengers are requested to contact Airlines of South Australia on 1800 018234 or Emu Airways on 1800 182353 to arrange the transfer.
Rex can be contacted directly through its Customer Contact Centre on 13 17 13 or through its website on www.rex.com.au where bookings are available.
Rex is Australia’s largest independent regional airline operating 33 routes to 27 regional destinations from Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. It recently undertook an Initial Public Offering of shares and is listing on the Australian Stock Exchange on 9 November.
