Regional Express (Rex) has announced that it will work closely with Airlines of South Australia and Emu Airways to assist their passengers after these airlines stop flying on 9 November.
“We have given our commitment that we will re-accommodate as many of their passengers as we are able to on our Port Lincoln and Kingscote services and they will be carried for the same fare that had been paid without additional penalty,” Geoff Breust, Rex’s Managing Director said.
“Rex is also examining the feasibility of additional flights to Kingscote on Kangaroo Island to meet the travel requirements of the many tour groups and overseas visitors who travel to the Island during this time of year. “
“Passengers who have tickets to fly to and from Port Augusta will be accommodated on Rex’s Adelaide – Whyalla services if they wish to travel by that means. However, at this point Rex has no plans to commence services to Port Augusta,” Mr Breust said.
Rex currently operates six return Saab 340 services between Adelaide and Port Lincoln daily and two return Saab services between Adelaide and Kingscote.
ASA and Emu Airways passengers who have tickets issued before 31 October should call ASA on 1800 018234 or Emu Airways on 1800182353 in the first instance.
Rex can be contacted directly through its Customer Contact Centre on 13 17 13 or through its website on www.rex.com.au where bookings are available.
