Regional Express (Rex) has today announced that it will add two new non-stop return flights between Townsville and Mount Isa effective from 14 June 2010.
The new flights that will operate on Friday and Sunday will depart Townsville at 12.20 pm, arriving Mount Isa at 2.20pm. From Mount Isa the new flights will depart at 2.50pm, arriving in Townsville at 4.50pm. Commenting on the new Friday and Sunday flights, Rex GM Network Strategy & Sales, Mr Warrick Lodge said, “Rex has been operating non-stop services between Townsville and Mount Isa since the beginning of February and we are extremely pleased with the level of support that we have received. The past few months have given us an opportunity to review the routes performance and listen to feedback and these latest changes reflect our growing commitment to the Townville to Mount Isa route with 3 return services on Fridays.”
“The additional non-stop flights that will operate on Fridays and Sundays will be a huge bonus for business travelers, in particular for those needing to travel from Mount Isa to Townsville on Friday afternoon. The additional Friday and Sunday flights will also open up increased opportunities for weekend related travel between Mount Isa and Townsville.” Mr Lodge said.
