Regional Express (Rex) today will see the newly-resumed service between Griffith and Melbourne take off for the first time since the announcement on 1 September 2009.
The service will depart Melbourne at 10.30 a.m. and will return from Griffith at 12.00 noon on all days except Saturday, providing more than 20,000 seats per year between the two cities. (see attached schedule)
Commenting on the resumption of the service which had been suspended since February 2008, Rex General Manager Network Strategy and Sales said, “Rex has been looking forward to the re-commencement of this vital link between Griffith and Melbourne as we understand the importance of the air service to the economic and social fabric of the local Griffith Community. Now that we have responded to the request of the local community, we hope that we will have its full support so that we could grow this service even more to better suit business and social needs.”
