REX BOOSTS SERVICES TO RIVERINA & BEYOND

Regional Express (Rex), Australia’s largest independent regional airline, announced today that it will boost services to Albury, Griffith, Mildura, Narrandera, and Wagga Wagga from Feb 28.
Rex Managing Director Geoff Breust said passenger numbers had continued to increase steadily across the network and the additional services have been put in place to meet this growing demand for air travel.
“The new services will bring more dedicated flights to Griffith, an improved schedule for Narrandera, additional seats and flight frequency on Wagga and Albury as well as a brand new day return service between Mildura and Sydney,” Mr Breust said.
“An 8am departure from Narrandera, answers the many requests for an early morning flight to Sydney.
“Increasing the dedicated services to Griffith will allow our customers to fly directly home after a long day’s business in the city and increases available seats by some 238 per week.
“Rex will now run four returns each day Monday to Friday injecting an additional 204 seats a week and an additional six flights weekly for Wagga Wagga.
“Similarly in Albury an additional 136 seats will be available as Rex also boosts its schedule by four flights per week to four returns a day Monday to Friday.”
With the addition of our newest port, West Wyalong in February – Rex will fly more than 1,000 times a week to 30 destinations throughout New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
The upgrade:
Albury
· An additional return flight on both Tuesday and Wednesday bringing the schedule to four return per day departing Sydney 11:45am arriving Albury 1:05pm, then departing Albury 1:40pm and arriving Sydney 2:55pm. Taking Rex’s services to four daily returns Monday to Friday.
Griffith
· An additional 238 seats per week dedicated to the Griffith – Sydney route (rather than sharing with Narrandera and Mildura services) resulting in an increase of 24% in capacity between Griffith and Sydney following a 36% passenger growth over the last year. The new schedule minimises flights via Narrandera – for example, evening service is now direct Sydney – Griffith departing Sydney at 6.20pm arriving 7.45pm. .
Mildura
· Rex has revised its schedule on Mildura – Sydney to overnight at Mildura departing at 6.40am arriving in Sydney at 9.15am. The return service departs Sydney at 5.50pm arriving in Mildura at 8.25pm. The new service provides Mildura with a day return to Sydney.
Narrandera
· An additional 102 seats per week (20% increase in capacity) including an improved schedule to accommodate an additional and early 8am departure to Sydney. Boost follows 21% growth in the Narrandera market in the past twelve months.
Wagga Wagga
· An additional return flight on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (204 seats per week) bringing the schedule to four return flights each day Monday to Friday. The new flights depart Sydney 11:50am arriving Wagga Wagga 12.55pm then departing Wagga Wagga at 1.30pm arriving Sydney at 2.35pm.
