Carnarvon

Carnarvon offers visitors an array of exciting and fascinating experiences and activities. Visitors can glean a background into the town’s history in the local Heritage Precinct, which includes One Mile Jetty, the Shearing Hall of Fame, Railway Station Museum and Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage. Travellers can visit the Precinct through a walking trail called the Carnarvon Tramway, a popular walk and bike trail. Popular tourist attractions include the Overseas Telecommunications Dish, situated on Brown’s Range. Whilst no longer an operational satellite base, this remains Australia’s first Earth Station site. Dr Buzz Aldrin opened the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum at this site in 2012 Visitors will find a perfect finish to their day (and even catch one last glimpse of the dolphins) by enjoying a BBQ dinner, or taking a relaxing stroll at the picturesque bay, The Fascine. Start your journey at the Carnarvon Visitor Centre.
