Rex Executive Chairman extends invitation to meet with Orange Mayor
Thursday, November 8, 2007

In response to the Mayor of Orange City Council, Mr John Davis’ request to meet with Management of Australia’s largest independent regional airline, Regional Express (Rex), Rex Executive Chairman, Mr Lim Kim Hai will fly from Singapore to Sydney to meet with the Mayor next week.

On 8 November 2007 in the Central Western Daily, Mr Davis said he would be seeking a meeting with Rex to discuss the future of the airline’s operation in Orange after expressing concern for the growing number of flight cancellations between Orange and Sydney.

Mr Lim said he looked forward to meeting with Mr Davis to recommence discussions as to how Rex and Council could actively work together to improve the air services to the community. He said, “Orange is practically the only route on Rex’s network where the passenger numbers have not grown in the past year due to council’s reluctance to enter into a partnership agreement. Council’s airport revenue has also stagnated as a consequence which is in stark contrast to the 20-30% growth we see in all the other routes.”

Rex has four flights per day to Orange and carried 59,000 passengers in the past year.
