Effective 1 July 2006, Regional Express (Rex) will change the default travel agent base commission applicable to all Rex 899 tickets from the current level of 1% to 0%. Rex will continue to pay agents 6% for bookings made on-line via the web.
The reduction in commission is in line with global and domestic trends as agents increasingly move to new remuneration models. Qantas has moved the domestic commission levels to 0% from 1 April 2006.
There will be no impact to any existing agency agreements that are all valid until 30 June 2006.
