Rex fuel surcharge to increase
Friday, April 4, 2008

Responding to steep and persistent rises in the price of fuel, Regional Express (Rex) will increase its fuel surcharge by $3.00 (including GST) effective from 08 April 2008. This increase will see Rex’s fuel surcharge increase from $30.00 to $33.00 per sector.

The fuel surcharge increase is also applicable to Rex’s subsidiary airline, Air Link.

Rex General Manager of Corporate Services, Mr Irwin Tan said, “April’s fuel price is some 15% higher than when we last raised our fuel levy. This obliges us to raise the levy to partially recover the increased cost of fuel.”

Rex is Australia’s largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of 37 Saab 340 aircraft with more than 1,300 flights weekly to 24 destinations from Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. The Rex Group comprises Regional Express, air freight and charter operator Pel-Air Aviation and Dubbo based regional airline, Air Link.
